How Residents Spend Their Day

How Residents Spend Their Day2019-02-20T15:44:13+00:00

Larchmere has strong community links and monthly services are held by our local vicar and a group of local ladies and gentlemen who sing hymns and conduct a simple service.  Many of our residents enjoy a regular trip to the local pub The Bell and Jorrocks for lunch and the local primary school children visit regularly to spend time with our residents, especially at Christmas when they perform and sing carols.

At Larchmere there is a wide range of activities available every day and regular outings and entertainment are organised by our Activities Co-ordinator.

  • Going for walks
  • Poetry Reading
  • Flower arranging
  • Knitting
  • Reading
  • Discussing the news and reminiscing
  • Painting and drawing
  • Gardening Club
  • Armchair exercises
  • Trivia quizzes and crosswords
  • Playing board games
  • Playing out door summer games (weather permitting)

All our residents enjoy nutritious home cooked meals and we understand how essential good nutrition is to health.  Our cooks take pride in producing delicious quality home cooked food using fresh local produce and all dietary requirements are catered for.  We offer a varied choice of meals and snacks including delicious cakes that are baked daily.

Our hairdresser visits once a week and payments can be made direct to the hairdresser at the time or can be taken from your pocket money account via the office and paid to the hairdresser.

Our Private Chiropodist visits approximately every six weeks or depending on need and payments can be taken from your pocket money account via the office and paid to the chiropodist.
