About Larchmere

We have a range of full and part time local staff, many of whom have worked at Larchmere for several years. We are proud of the warm and friendly environment that exists at Larchmere and our Philosophy is to provide high standards of nursing care that are tailored to meet each individual need. We use our combined Nursing skills and your experiences and wishes to formulate a plan of care in order for us to balance your health needs with your lifestyle choices and independence.

There is an onsite laundry and we have specially adapted bathrooms and shower rooms so that you are able to enjoy these facilities irrespective of your mobility. We have a range of equipment from electric beds and recliner chairs to hoists that enable our staff to support you to live your life as you always have with comfort and dignity.

We also have strong community links and enjoy monthly services and ad hoc visits from our local vicar and a group of local ladies who sing hymns and conduct a simple service. Many of our residents enjoy a regular pub lunch at our local The Bell and Jorrocks and we enjoy visiting groups from two nearby primary schools especially at Christmas time. We have a selection of volunteers from local secondary schools.

Our hairdresser visits every Monday and Tuesday and we have a visiting optician service and Chiropodist who visits every 6 weeks. We are fortunate to enjoy an excellent relationship with our local GP who visits the home every week and more often as needed.

All of our residents enjoy nutritious home cooked meals of their choice and all special diets are catered for. We understand how essential good nutrition is to health and adapt the range and variety of food on offer accordingly. All staff are actively involved at mealtimes to assist our residents effectively.
