Activities At
Larchmere we recognize the importance of maintaining an active and
interesting social life and understand that it is often not possible
for our residents to access events outside the home. Our aim is
therefore to bring the outside in to our residents. We employ three
Activity staff who complement the nursing team and offer a range
of individual and group activities to all our residents on a daily
basis.
We organize several trips out each
year by minibus to a variety of destinations chosen by our residents.
The seaside at Eastbourne and Hastings are often popular destinations
and recently Chatham Historic Dockyard and The kingfisher cruise
down the river Medway have also proved very popular.
We offer in house entertainment
by inviting a variety of singers and performers into the home each
month and all the staff, visitors and residents get together periodically
to enjoy themed party events in the home.
Our Activities staff also run a
pot gardening club in the courtyard garden during the spring and
summer months. A crossword club also runs every Thursday.
We appreciate that not all events
suit every individual and we also offer quieter individual daily
activities and small group activities including cards, board games
quizzes etc.
